Well, here I am, sitting at the beach house enjoying a glass of wine on the porch while listening to the surf gently playing its Sisyphusian game. There’s a warm breeze blowing in from the ocean and there are several large ships disapearing over the horizon making me wonder which exotic and strange lands they might be bound – probably New York. Enough of my ramblings, though – Despite everything I tried I could not confirm if our DSL line here at the house was working so I had to abandon the idea of skyping in for this weeks trivia shows. Too bad – perhaps next year. Sean will be coving for me Tuesday and Wednesday and will be using a mixture of his own questions (so don’t blame me) and my own (ok, you can blame me for those) – So on to the topics.

Tuesday at the Cat’s Meow, our topics are: Harry Potter and Will Ferrell movies.

Wednesday at Brendee’s, the topics are: Infectious diseases and Indian Jones.

Good luck players and be kind to Sean while I suffer in my own private hell here on the beach – there are mosquito’s the size of small rats vulturizing me as I write this, I’ve run out of margarita salt and the ice machine is on the fritz so the frozen drinks are rather mediocre, can’t wait to get back to civilization, work and cheap beer. See you all next week when I return. Now it’s time to find the proper wine to be served with funnel cake and deep fried oreo’s – life is cruel to us all sometimes, I hope I make it.

Well, tonights topics for Brendee’s in Lancaster are definitely a challange to write a show for. It’s definitely going to be a learning experience on both sides! So without further adu the topics are — The poetry of Henry VIII, American slavery up to the end of the Civil War, and just to balance things out a little – porn! I added that third topic just so some people wont feel left out, you’re welcome. Anyway, see ya tonight at 8pm!

Tonights topics for trivia at the Cat’s Meow in Manheim are 80’s music and hockey! I guess you could say its going to be a cool blast from the recent past.

Ok, it’s on! I’m on my way to Norristown to gut an old arcade machine for parts for my future home arcade machine. When I get back I’m going to write questions for our topics at Brendees tonight – two topics I shouldn’t have much trouble with – marine biology and Douglas Adams.

Tonight at the Cat’s Meow in Manheim, our topics were chosen by our newest team! So while I do my research you can do a little of your own, our topics are – 90’s music and Greco-Roman mythology. Good luck!

Tonight at Club XS in York, Sean will be hosting a $100 Texas Hold’Em poker tournament! There’s NO BUY in, everything is completely free! Signup starts at 7pm and the game kicks off at 8pm. There’s $100 cash (ka-ching!) for first place and other great prizes as well. All skill levels are welcomed and encouraged! So if the idea of taking home some cash money and playing some good cards interests you, join Sean at Club XS this evening!

Also tonight, J’s hosting karaoke at Bube’s Brewery in Mount Joy. Tonight we’ll be hosting Barcrawler’s Karaoke Contest VII. We’ve got some great prizes from Bube’s to give away and more! Our panel of judges for tonight’s event include Mitch Ernst, the man of 1000 deliveries for the word fabulous – Joe Hamer, of the band Testoseroso - and one other ‘mystery judge’ that even I don’t know who it is just yet! Karaoke starts at 8:30pm for those that want to warm up before hand. 

So join us tonight at one or both of our events and bring your friends!

This Sunday, June 7th, it’s our 7th karaoke contest at Bube’s Brewery in Mount Joy, Pa! Come on out and enjoy the fun. Come perform in front of our audience and our panel of judges for a chance to with money, prizes and fame! All experience levels are welcome, there’s no fee to enter and it’s open to everyone 21 or over! As always there’ll be great drink specials going on throughout the evening and karaoke will be up and running by 8:30 for those of you that would like to come out early to warm up. Pass the word around to your friends, we can’t wait to have you join us!

Also this weekend, we have trivia at the Tilted Kilt in Mount Joy. We only have 4 shows left before our annual summer break! Trivia will be back on September 5th – so come in this weekend and have your chance at taking home your part $50 of the Tilted Kilt Summer Stimulus Package!

Also on Sunday, Sean will be at Club XS in York for Texas Hold’Em poker. Signup starts at 7pm and there’s $100 on the line for the winner of the tournament! As always there’s absolutely no buy in and players of all levels are encouraged to join in the game!

Hopefully for everyone the site speed has improved dramatically. I spent a few hours in Photoshop tonight and redesigned the sites background template and optimized the size to about 40K. This should keep the page loading down to a second or two. Some people may have to empty their browsers cache before seeing any difference. I also installed some caching software on the server side and as long as everything goes well with that we should see some other improvements as well. I also installed Google AdSense on side bar – who knows if anyone will even click any of the ads but it would be nice to have one of my business expenses pay for itself. There’s a few other things changed under the hood, however it’s nothing you’ll notice. If anyone comes across any errors or anything wonky (it’s a technical term, look it up) please let me. For those of you accessing the site with an iPhone, iPod Touch, Android device or a Blackberry Storm, the site will now automatically load an optimized mobile theme specifically for those devices. I haven’t had a chance to check it out on anything but an iPhone/iPod Touch  so I’m not entirely sure if everything is acceptable for the other inferior products (sorry, my Apple bias couldn’t resist ) so again, please let me know of any problems. I trust all the changes will make the site more enjoyable for everyone. See ya Saturday at the Tilted Kilt for trivia!

So I’ve now figured out that I can have my rss feeds from this site to be automatically fed into my facebook account! Yay! I must have no life what-so-ever – oh wait, it’s my day off, I don’t need to have a life! So here ya go, add me if you want.
